"An engineer believes most problems have solutions."

Just another WordPress.com weblog

super cook!

I’ve managed to get in (a relative) order my collection of pictures. Shots taken at weddings, at school, work, various wallpapers and all kind of stuff that caught my eye while surfing on the Internet. Among the last category I found this picture… čÖé (which I believe it’s from a Nike comercial, but I might be wrong).

Today I start learning J2EE … I have a nice workbook from Radu and I hope to have the steel desire to read and learn it through… čÖé

But, as always, the road to knowledge begins with “some”(more or little) waste of time. So the first 2 hours of this morning I’ve just browsed the net reading stuff. Here is a bit that caught my eye:

1. In the beginning God created the Bit and the Byte. And from those he created the Word.
2. And there were two Bytes in the Word; and nothing else existed. And God separated the One from the Zero; and he saw it was good.
3. And God said – Let the Data be; And so it happened. And God said – Let the Data go to their proper places. And he created floppy disks and hard disks and compact disks.
4. And God said – Let the computers be, so there would be a place to put floppy disks and hard disks and compact disks. Thus God created computers and called them hardware.
5. And there was no Software yet. But God created programs; small and big… And told them – Go and multiply yourselves and fill all the Memory.
6. And God said – I will create the Programmer; And the Programmer will make new programs and govern over the computers and programs and Data.
7. And God created the Programmer; and put him at Data Center; And God showed the Programmer the Catalog Tree and said You can use all the volumes and subvolumes but DO NOT USE Windows.
8. And God said – It is not Good for the programmer to be alone. He took a bone from the Programmer’s body and created a creature that would look up at the Programmer; and admire the Programmer; and love the things the Programmer does; And God called the creature: the User.
9. And the Programmer and the User were left under the naked DOS and it was Good.
10. But Bill was smarter than all the other creatures of God. And Bill said to the User – Did God really tell you not to run any programs?
11. And the User answered – God told us that we can use every program and every piece of Data but told us not to run Windows or we will die.
12. And Bill said to the User – How can you talk about something you did not even try. The moment you run Windows you will become equal to God. You will be able to create anything you like by a simple click of your mouse.
13. And the User saw that the fruits of the Windows were nicer and easier to use. And the User saw that any knowledge was useless – since Windows could replace it.
So the User installed the Windows on his computer; and said to the Programmer that it was good.
14. And the Programmer immediately started to look for new drivers. And God asked him – What are you looking for? And the Programmer answered – I am looking for new drivers because I can not find them in the DOS. And God said – Who told you need drivers? Did you run Windows? And the Programmer said – It was Bill who told us to !
15. And God said to Bill – Because of what you did you will be hated by all the creatures. And the User will always be unhappy with you. And you will always sell Windows.
16. And God said to the User – Because of what you did, the Windows will disappoint you and eat up all your Resources; and you will have to use lousy programs; and you will always rely on the Programmers help.
17. And God said to the Programmer – Because you listened to the User you will never be happy. All your programs will have errors and you will have to fix them and fix them to the end of time.
18. And God threw them out of the Data Center and locked the door and secured it with a password.

Snow Leopard

One might say that Jobs is a good man, a God-fearing man that fights against the Microsoft oppressors. I say he’s a capitalist genius, with only the investors good being at heart. ┬áStarting from something almost free – Linux (and yeah, I know it’s not quite like this… ) he’s got a product that sells for millions: the Mac OS X. Which at the time speaking has reached his 10.6 version! More versions, more money!

The so called “Snow Leopard” can be installed in many ways. One of them (a cheaper one) is to use an usb drive. I’ve got several hdd external usb enclosures around the table. You just have to sacrifice a little space on one of them.

Here is a link to a nice tutorial: http://osxdaily.com/2009/09/02/install-snow-leopard-from-external-firewire-or-usb-hard-drive-or-how-to-upgrade-to-106-without-a-dvd-drive/

Late at night…

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… So…

This is the start of this blog. Where is it going to lead I really don’t know, but I’ll try to stay for the whole ride AND make it worth your while.

It is 3:18 in the morning and I can’t sleep. ┬áI’ve woke about 1 hour ago with a headache and i’ve installed myself on the computer. ┬áStarted some Judas Priest to soothe the throbing pain and cheched the torrents. Yeaaah, the internet is downloading slowly but surely… even with all the restrictions that RoEdu( the Politehnica’s ISP) has imposed.

There are two reasons for this blog. First: I neeed a homepage, a little site to call my own. And because I don’t have a hosting or a domain I will use the services of the good people at Automattic. ┬áThis is because the Android bastards require that you have a homepage so that you can become a registered developer… But more about them tomorrow, or another day, when I feel like poking the crap with a stick.

Second reason is a dear friend and school coleague of mine. You know who you are…

He is a very annoying dude that reaaaally likes to talk. ┬áHe wants to get money from passive income, like Google Ads. That means he don’t wanna work. So. He needs other people to work for him. Quite noble and I could say that I understand the feeling, but it’s easier to do it if you are a real noble and have a real fortune behind you.

His plan is to have a network of sites with all kind of content and lots and lots of 1 cent adds. So here I am (like a good friend I am) trying to create some sort or content. Maybe he’ll let me be… But…

That’s it for today, folks. I’m going to bed. Tommorow I’ll tell you about the Android bastards and the meaning of life.

I have a sick and dirty mind and I'm not afraid to use it!
